Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has awarded two infrastructure contracts worth SAR 2.29 billion ($610.5 million) to a joint venture of Saudi Real Estate Infrastructure Company (Binyah) and Qatar’s Infraroad Trading & Contracting Company. The scope includes roads, bridges, and utility networks for packages three, four, and seven at the resort core of Qiddiya Entertainment City.
Earlier in September, QIC selected a joint venture between Albawani and Qatar-based Urbacon Trading & Contracting Company to deliver the Water Park Hotel at Qiddiya’s resort core. Ammico Contracting Company executed the foundation works for this development, which includes a 400-key, four-star hotel.
The Water Park Hotel project is designed by Dubai-based DSA Architects International and the UK’s Omto Architects. Qiddiya Entertainment City, located about 45 kilometres from Riyadh, spans 367 square kilometres and is directly funded by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The development will feature a wide range of entertainment, sports, and hospitality components, with its first phases expected to open by the end of 2024.
