Waqood Tower is a twenty one floor tower with four basements and covers a plot area of 3,500 m2. Ammico’s scope involved installation of diaphragm wall and associated ground anchors for earth retention system followed by excavation from existing ground level to a depth of 16 m, dewatering works and installation of foundation piles for the tower.
The challenge on the project was to complete the four basement enabling works over a very small plot area of 3,500 m2 surrounded by adjacent buildings. The work was completed within the very tight stipulated period of four months.
