Rua Al-Medina Holding Awards Ground Improvement Works for Superblock-5 to Ammico | KSA

Rua Al-Medina is a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF) responsible for driving the tourism and cultural development of Medina.

The Superblock-5 Development comprises the construction of 18 hotel towers across three categories — three-star, four-star, and five-star — along with associated secondary infrastructure. The towers range inheight from 11 to 21 storeys.

Ammico’s scope of work includes ground improvement through the installation of rigid inclusions beneath the raft foundations of all 18 towers, covering a total area of approximately 42,000 m².

Qiddiya Awards Performance Arts Centre Piling Works to Ammico | KSA

Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), the developer behind one of Saudi Arabia’s flagship gigaprojects, has awarded Ammico the contract for the piling works of the Performance Arts Centre within Qiddiya Entertainment City.

The Performance Arts Centre will feature over 3,000 seats distributed across three theatres, along with a cantilevered amphitheatre overlooking Qiddiya’s lower plateau. The design also includes a 500-seat performance space suspended from above, creating a distinctive architectural landmark within the development.

Located approximately 45 kilometres from Riyadh city centre, Qiddiya Entertainment City spans 367 square kilometres and is being developed as a premier destination for entertainment, culture, and sports. The project is funded directly by the Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Ammico International Wins Misk Ilmi Centre MEP Works | KSA

Saudi Arabia’s Fundamental Installation for Electric Work Company (First Fix) has been awarded a SR266 million ($71 million) contract to execute the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) works for the Ilmi Science Discovery and Innovation Centre in Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City, Riyadh.

UAE-based Alec Engineering & Contracting, the project’s main contractor, awarded the MEP contract, which will run for a duration of 21 months from the start of construction.

The project is being developed by the Mohammed Bin Salman (Misk) Foundation and led by Princess Sara Bint Mashhour Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, wife of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. The centre is designed to engage youth in science, technology, literature, engineering, art, and mathematics.

Ammico Contracting Company executed the foundation works for the Ilmi Science Discovery and Innovation Centre, providing a critical early-stage contribution to one of Riyadh’s landmark developments.

Located within Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City—the world’s first non-profit city—the project reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and knowledge-based growth.

Qiddiya Awards Southwest Transport Hub Enabling Works to Ammico | KSA

Saudi Arabian giga project developer, Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC), has awarded a contract to Ammico to undertake enabling works involving shoring and earthworks on its Southwest Transport Hub at Qiddiya Entertainment City.

The Southwest Transport Hub acts as a gateway to the Resort Core. It will provide an interchange for visitors arriving from external modes of transport, which include private cars, Q-Shuttle buses, Park + Ride buses, SUA buses, taxis and external GRT, where they can transfer to internal modes within the Resort Core, which include internal GRT, hotel drop-off, and micro-mobility.

Destination Development Company (DDC) Awards Enabling Work for the Monolith Resort at Al-Ula to Ammico | KSA

Saudi Arabia’s Destinations Development Company (DDC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Saudi sovereign wealth vehicle the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has awarded an enabling works tender for the Monolith resort in the Al Ula region of Saudi Arabia to Ammico.

Monolith is planned as an exclusive 1,000-key resort on top of a plateau in the Al-Ula region in KSA. The development will also include a spa, an amphitheater, stables, horse-riding areas, a water park, a hilltop area, a sports centre, an augmented reality/virtual reality hub, an observatory and planetarium, and an 18-hole championship golf course.

Ammico’s scope includes site preparation and installation of about 450 Piles.

Neom Awards Piling Works for Epicon Towers and Resort to Ammico | KSA

The Epicon Towers project is one of the flagship developments in the Gulf of Aqaba region of the Neom Giga project.

The project involves the construction of a twin-tower hotel with 41 keys and 14 residential suites and apartments. The development also includes a resort with 120 rooms and 45 villas.

Ammico will undertake shoring, excavation and dewatering and piling works for the resort and the towers.

Qiddiya Awards Water Park Hotel Piling Works to Ammico | KSA

Saudi Arabian giga-project developer Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has awarded a contract to Ammico to execute the piling works for the Water Park Hotel within Qiddiya Entertainment City.

The Water Park, designed to be the largest in the region, will feature 23 rides and attractions across an area of 250,000 square metres, including 40,000 square metres of building structures.

Located approximately 45 kilometres from Riyadh city centre, Qiddiya Entertainment City spans 367 square kilometres and is funded directly by the Public Investment Fund (PIF). The destination is envisioned as Saudi Arabia’s premier hub for entertainment, sports, and culture.

Qiddiya Awards Infrastructure Contracts | KSA

Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) has selected a joint venture of local contractor Saudi Real Estate Infrastructure Company (Binyah) and Qatar’s Infraroad Trading & Contracting Company to deliver the infrastructure works at the Qiddiya’s resort core.

The two contracts worth SAR2.29bn ($610.5m) were awarded for packages three, four and seven, which include the construction of roads, bridges and utility networks at the resort core in Qiddiya entertainment city.

US-based Jacobs is the project consultant.

Earlier in September, QIC selected a joint venture of local contractor Albawani and Qatar-based Urbacon Trading & Contracting Company to deliver the Water Park Hotel at Qiddiya’s resort core.

Qatari Ammico Contracting Company undertook the foundation works. The scope of the contract involves the construction of a 400-key, four-star hotel.

Dubai-based DSA Architects International and the UK’s Omto Architects are the project consultants.

The client issued the tender for the main contract in March, and the bid submission deadline was 15 May.

Qiddiya projects

QIC is gearing up to deliver several components of its Qiddiya entertainment city project.

In August, MEED reported that contractors were preparing the infrastructure bids for an estimated $500m roads, utilities and tunnels package.

The client is also evaluating bids for the main construction contract for a 5,300-seat e-games arena at its sports complex. The venue will provide space for local, national and international competitions.

Work on the Qiddiya sports complex includes the construction of a stadium, a multi-sports hub, two golf courses, training facilities and an aquatic centre.

In February, Saudi construction and utility services company Keir International secured a SR68.9m ($18.36m) contract for the Qiddiya water park. The scope of work includes engineering, design, electrical, communications, civil and electromechanical works.

Qiddiya is an entertainment destination being developed on a 367 square-kilometre site located about 45 kilometres from Riyadh city centre. The project is funded directly by Saudi sovereign wealth vehicle the Public Investment Fund.

QIC plans to raise additional funding through a bond or sukuk offering and private investment. The development will be served by a new metro line and is expected to open its first phases to the public by the end of 2024.
